Reviewing Professional USD Coin Counter & Sorter/Wrapper My S.O. has growler upon growler of coins. We need to sort through them and find any that might be valuable, then sort, wrap and deposit the rest. It’s a daunting task that neither of us has been looking forward to. We were quite excited to see this sorter.
It has a large hopper on it, so you can do a fair amount at once. It also has secure tubes (or trays if you’d rather use them) that stay in place while counting. It has an LED display so you can easily see how you have it set and what the readings are. It’s not a plug and play machine, meaning you really do need to read the user manual to figure out how to properly set it for what you want it to do, but the manual is easy to understand, and it doesn’t take very long to get it up and running. In all fairness, if you just want to throw some coins in and have it sort them, you can do that without reading the manual or changing any settings, but as you can see in my video, when you do that, it will keep opening the chute for coins to drop until you hit stop, regardless of being empty of further coins. If you set up the batches, that will not be an issue.
We found it to be accurate and much faster than sorting by hand. The tubes make it convenient for wrapping also. It uses standard power and has a handle for easy moving. It’s lightweight to carry (unless the hopper is full of coins) and is easy to set up. It is large, so it won’t fit under the bed for storage. I was a little surprised at how big it is.
One note, I was hoping that I could put the wrappers in the tubes and sort them that way, but it doesn’t work very well. That said, it’s very easy to wrap them by sliding them out of the tube into the wrapper. I did note that the first few coins for the smaller ones (pennies and dimes) occasionally popped out (maybe 1 out of 5 times and only the first coin of a batch for the pennies and/or dimes), so watch for that. Once a few are properly aligned, it works fine. This is going to be such a time saver.

Since I handle a lot of coins, I needed a coin counter to save time and for accuracy in the coin count. This coin counter fits the bill and is exactly what I was needing. Te he coin tubhe price was very good and the accuracy of the counts is always spot on. The fact it has not only boxes for the coins, but also tubes for the individual coins is a big help. Put the coin tube in its respective slot, set the batch for the number of coins per tube, and it fills the tube with the proper amount for the coin roll. Also, the tubes makes it easy to load coins into the preformed coin rollers.
